Chris Chatfield is a Newcastle based photographer with an ardent passion for the North East where he has lived all his life.

With his innovative and exciting style Chris constantly seeks to depict a wide variety of images from what is a richly diverse and unique area of England.

From its breath taking coastal scenery to its gritty urban realism, Chris offers his audience a unique and creative insight into what, for him, is at the very core of North Eastern life.

Through his lens he constantly aims to capture the strong and powerful imagery of the region's rich and varied scenery of rural and urban landscapes.

Chris states ‘the landscape of the region is in a constant state of change’ and he believes that is due to the North East’s constantly changing very seasonal weather and the region as a whole being transformed from a post industrial powerhouse to become a culturally vibrant place to live and work.

After studying Geography at University Chris has further developed his interest and understanding of the physical landscape that is around us all and the two way interaction that we have with this landscape, both physically and mentally.

Thus Chris, through his work, aims to celebrate and share with us, his audience, the hopes, dreams and aspirations of what he regards as this truly amazing part of the world.
